[linux-audio-user] Problem with a tascam122

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi folks,

today my christmas-present, a tascam us-122 arrived. Sure enough first thing
to do was to test it. After figuring which packages to install and after
realizing that it seems as if I don't need the firmware from windows I now
get midi and sound with it.
And here starts my problem: soundplayback is only the very first seconds, then
it stops and after a while I get an I/O-Error. My action was "aplay -D hw:1
-f cd <a_file>". I also tested with alsaplayer and jack, both don't do any
sound. :-(

Maybe someone can help me, I would like to use this device on christmas-eve.
BTW, I didn't test under windows, thats one thing left to do...

Thanks in advance,

Arnold

PS: Installed packages are:
alsa-driver-1.0.7
alsa-firmware-1.0.7
fxload-20020411
hotplug-20040923
I am using gentoo and kernel 2.6.8-gentoo-r8...

replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.

There is another theory which states that this has already happened.
