Hi folks, today my christmas-present, a tascam us-122 arrived. Sure enough first thing to do was to test it. After figuring which packages to install and after realizing that it seems as if I don't need the firmware from windows I now get midi and sound with it. And here starts my problem: soundplayback is only the very first seconds, then it stops and after a while I get an I/O-Error. My action was "aplay -D hw:1 -f cd <a_file>". I also tested with alsaplayer and jack, both don't do any sound. :-( Maybe someone can help me, I would like to use this device on christmas-eve. BTW, I didn't test under windows, thats one thing left to do... Thanks in advance, Arnold PS: Installed packages are: alsa-driver-1.0.7 alsa-firmware-1.0.7 fxload-20020411 hotplug-20040923 I am using gentoo and kernel 2.6.8-gentoo-r8... -- There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.
