Version 0.8.4 should be available now at <https://kokkinizita.linuxaudio.org/linuxaudio/downloads/index.html> Disconnecting the sound card will not stop the program, but its CPU load will be minimal. A full fix requires changes to zita-alsa-pcmi. This will take some time.
