What is SysReq?

A key on the usual PC keyboards.


It's also implemented in /proc/sys/kernel.

I have this since quite a few years in a script on my computers if, or rather when, things goes wrong and I can get in from outside.

echo 1 > /proc/sys/kernel/sysrq
echo r > /proc/sysrq-trigger
echo e > /proc/sysrq-trigger
echo i > /proc/sysrq-trigger
echo s > /proc/sysrq-trigger
echo u > /proc/sysrq-trigger
echo b > /proc/sysrq-trigger
