I thought my mainboard was dying, but other USB devices weren't dropping out.

Do I need to get a replacement for my USB soundcard?
Or, is it a software issue?

Apparently Creative does not know the the Mac exists... or USB 2.0 audio even though they call the platform "USB 2.0" I do not think that refers to the audio part so much as the port. The listed system requirements only list windows. (and they need drivers installed) I tried to DL the manual, but was asked to sign a software ULA so I didn't. Apparently, Creative have not moved forward very much from the 1980s.

Anyway, unless someone has made special module for this device, it will not work with linux. Look for devices that work with the Mac with no drivers. Feel free to ask about a device before you buy. With USB devices I normally walk into the store with my laptop and test before buying...
