Every Bluetooth variant I have seen also involves some lossy codec in the
path which adds latency and reduces audio quality. You also have to worry
about pauses in the audio flow if new Bluetooth devices turn on in close
proximity and start querying for known Bluetooth partners. I would not
want it anywhere in music or audio production with the possible exception
of occasionally headphones if I needed to move around a room without
tripping over cables. You can buy a plug-in dongle for that which appears
to the OS as a USB audio device.
