I didn't follow this thread, perhaps nobody linked against https://support.focusrite.com/hc/en-gb/articles/208095469-USB-2-0-vs-USB-3-0 or similar until now. I experience much more issues with my professional PCIe card, than with my prosumer USB device ;). OTOH USB could be tricky.
