Keep in mind, the sax player could try out different pharses for
hours inside the booth and to record the sax, the musician could do it a
few seconds outside the booth.

Hope you aren't suggesting that the sax player isn't a musician.
And, the sax player can learn to play more quietly! Really, he (she) can. But, it's hard.
