Yes i did, some years ago i had the plan to buy a Allen & Heath ICE16D from a private seller. Because its kind of expensive (was about 700€) i wanted to test the device if its working with linux. So i wrote thomann if they are fine if i order it just for testing and send it back and they had no complains. Of course i could have done some tests on the place where i bought it fromt this guy, but you know, its better to do such tests at home when you have time to check everything you need.
The E-Mails are in German, if someone is interested i can forward them. But i think if you ask on your own, you will get the same answer ;)
