A cello concerto would hardly be monophonic, but I cannot think of any
from "the" Bach (J.S.). Are you thinking of the cello suites?
Hand hits forehead ... of course I meant the cello suites. Yeah, a monophonic concerto would be ... ummm .. interesting???
I imagine they would give a breath controller (or actual wind
instrument) a run for their money. I play them on chromatic button
accordion (where a hand span of two octaves is still comfortable) and
they are a good reach. I'd imagine them to involve a lot of jumping
around on a piano keyboard, and a strenuous mess on wind instruments
(where broken chords/phrases over large intervals like that require much
more frequent overblowing switches than usual).
I've tried to play a few transcriptions on saxophone. And, listened to a few as well. I certainly sound awful trying it. And folks much better than I am don't sound all that great either. Mind you, I'm using to recordings of spectacular cellists playing it :)

What do you _want_ it to do? Chances are that one can rig something up
that does it outside of Aeolus.
I don't really have the time these days to do much with it. More of a "that's interesting" question.
