Well, I can't resist this question--even though it's not directed at me: Brad Fuller writes: > > > Russell Hanaghan wrote: > > >The GUI is nice and if it really will "do it all" at least in terms of > >working as a sequencer, it may solve my live sequencing dilemna and > >free me of Cakewalk and Windblows. > > Are you using Sonar? What does your Cakewalk have that RG does not? What > are you missing? My Answer: An interface that is usable "eyes-free." Yes, Sonar/Cakewalk does that, and RG and Ardour do not--though there was an attempt made (probably misguided) to build an ncurses interface to Ardour. Wired gets this--probably unanticipated--by virtue of using TTK+. Perhaps Ardour may move to GTK+ some day, but I have little hope for RG as I'm given to understand it is a heavy user of custom widgets. Just trying to be a gentle nag to remind developers that ATK choices matter. -- Janina Sajka, Chair Accessibility Workgroup Free Standards Group (FSG) janina@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Phone: +1 202.494.7040
