jackd is started by ricochet when pulseaudio loads module-jack-sink

load-module module-jack-source

Removing those lines and rebooting will not have jackd automatically
running, I checked it.

I had not thought of that one. I normally think of pulse and jackdbus rather than jackd, but this makes sense in the way you describe it. That should work with jackd1 or 2 I think.
