If you use QjackCtl to start jack, then take a look at the settings dialog provided by QjackCtl. Set up the wanted frames value, then stop jack and after that start it again. QjackCtl provides buttons to stop and start it. Mention what version of QjackCtl you are using, unfortunately the GUI was redesigned. Also take a look at the settings, does it start jackd or jackdbus? What version of Jack are you using? I suspect that it's not an issue with the audio interface, but a user error.
