The usefulness of clyp.it would then be to put short snippets. As it is possible to see, many people who actually have accounts on clyp.it put short clips there while having a link to their Soundcloud account for more. For this purpose it is another way to expose (snippets of) music. If people like the style, they click on the Soundcloud link.
