Hello all- I have a Digigram VXpocket v2 sound card for my Fujitsu laptop, and have gotten as far as adding entries in /etc/pcmcia/config to get the card recognized by cardmgr on insertion, and adding the lines alias snd-card-1 snd-vxpocket alias sound-slot-1 snd-vxpocket post-install snd-vxpocket /usr/bin/vxloader to /etc/modules.conf. But when the card is inserted I get this in /var/log/messages: Aug 23 10:47:17 localhost cardmgr[804]: socket 0: Digigram VXpocket Aug 23 10:47:17 localhost cardmgr[804]: executing: 'modprobe snd-vxpocket' Aug 23 10:47:17 localhost cardmgr[804]: + vxloader: no VX-compatible cards found Aug 23 10:47:17 localhost cardmgr[804]: + /lib/modules/2.4.26-1.ll.rhfc1.ccrma/kernel/sound/snd-vxpocket.o: post-install snd-vxpocket failed Aug 23 10:47:17 localhost cardmgr[804]: + /lib/modules/2.4.26-1.ll.rhfc1.ccrma/kernel/sound/snd-vxpocket.o: insmod snd-vxpocket failed Aug 23 10:47:17 localhost cardmgr[804]: modprobe exited with status 255 Aug 23 10:47:17 localhost cardmgr[804]: module /lib/modules/2.4.26-1.ll.rhfc1.ccrma/pcmcia/snd-vxpocket.o not available Aug 23 10:47:18 localhost cardmgr[804]: get dev info on socket 0 failed: Resource temporarily unavailable The modules "snd-vxpocket", "snd-vx-cs", "snd-vx-lib" and "snd-hwdep" are loaded after the card insertion, despite the messages saying that "insmod snd-vxpocket" failed. But the card is not recognized by ALSA. I'm running Fedora Core 1 with Planet CCRMA, kernel 2.4.26-1.ll.rhfc1.ccrma, and all my alsa packages are 1.0.4-1.cvs.rhfc1.ccrma. I am totally stumped as to why the vxloader program won't see my card. I'm apparently using version 1.0 of vxloader, and I've found that there is a slightly newer version of the program (1.0.5) that I will try as soon as I can. Does anyone have any ideas about this problem? Any help much appreciated. Thanks Jacob Last
