[linux-audio-user] New install issues (Was: Trouble compiling JACK 0.98.1)

Okay, here's where I'm at:

Jack compiled okay.
'qjackctl' compiled okay.
Now I'm getting this trace from 'qjackctl' for 'jackd'

Also, other utilities (alsamixer and envy24control) don't
seem to see 'hw:0' either.

Seems like I'm ready for clue #2.
Ideas anyone?
