Claws is an excellent example, you experience issues with claws, but OTOH claws is an unpretentious MUA, it doesn't cause dependency issues. You easily could compile it from git or install it from a distro's repository, while at the same time you could installing a lot of libraries from third party repositories. Evolution for example provides little scope regarding dependencies, OTOH Evolution might have many features Claws doesn't provide.
