Well, you can already do it like this:
hotkeys:
Escape: process_command('some_command')
So in Larry's case, we could add:
k: process_command('mark')
I think I read this somewhere at some point and completely forgot about it.
turning it around, we could have:
Escape: some_command
or
Escape: eval some($perl{code});
I think the current way does have its merits, especially if you do want to add commands or functions, which need some sort of extra information.
