[1] the "real time config quick scan" tool is generally a good start.
[2] Disable WiFi and CPU frequency scaling helps here*
[3] Looking at the IRQ's, and unloading unneccessary shares

sharing.. see if you can unload whatever its sharing with)

*other computers seem to be fine with CPU scaling and/or WiFi enabled
during work.
