	That said, I have never had to mess with firmware or anything
weird with either my midisport 8x8 or 2x2. Don't ask me why, I just turn
them on (8x8) or plug them in (2x2) after I boot and they come up just
fine.

Fedora core, running the planet ccrma kernel.
