Yeah, it's called Soundmesh and your description is quite correct (including spelling). :-)

As far as the MIDI stuff is concerned, RTMix is capable of that by either relaying MIDI data to a client or a list of clients. Alternately, it can also convert MIDI to OSC, and/or to custom events and relay it that way.
