[linux-audio-user] Newbie: Realtime kernel and THAC's rpms

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Please note that Mandrake 9.2 will be released in a few weeks, and contains
the latest and greatest multimedia kernel, alsa, ardour/audacity, jack stuff
including new gui, sweep, terminatorX, hydrogen, amsynth, ecasound, tkeca,
snd, fluidsynth, rosegarden4, noteedit, muse, swami, etc. etc. etc.

Some of this stuff is on main CDs/ISOs, and some is installed automatically
from online repositories using urpmi. Urpmi is your friend. I believe the
Powerpack Edition will include almost all of the audio apps on CD or DVD
though.

I will also update the Audio Workstation HowTo to be accurate as of 9.2 when
it is released.

There's no need to switch distros if you're happy, but please be aware that
we've been working very hard to try to keep multimedia support in Mandrake
current and easy to install.
