It may be studio time or the cost of buying your own equipment, but it isn't gratuit, free as in beer, or 'gratis' as we say in England. On the other hand, if I sell you a CD of music that you can redistribute, sample or remix, then it's probably more 'libre' than a CD which is gratis, but has DRM on it. Cheers Daniel
