Probably not.  I think having more good entries is more important than
having free entries.  Although TOO many entries would probably make
people shy away from voting.  What would be ideal, 6?

Hmm, that's a neat idea.  Would be good publicity for the Creative
Commons at the same time.

BTW, I think the contest is a cool idea, but I hope I'm allowed to 
re-record my song before it's officially 'entered'.  I'd like to use a
sequencer, or a click track at the very least.  ;-)
