I think this could be of interest... I've been recently contacted by a visitor of my site that asked me if timidity can render into wav single channels/tracks of a midifile instead of the whole midifile. I know that timidity can't do this and then pointed him (his name is Pasquale Fersini) to the MIDI::Perl module site. Then he contacted the author (Sean M. Burke) and they write a simple utility for splitting midifiles into separate midifiles based on tracks/channel information. For those who are programmers this can be a simple thing, but for those (like me) that are using Linux as users, I think it's a very handy utility. Here you can find the script: http://members.spinn.net/~sburke/midi_splitter.pl and here the announce on the MIDI::Perl ML: http://archive.develooper.com/midi@xxxxxxxx/msg00205.html HTH -- .-----------------------. | Emiliano Grilli | | emillo@xxxxxxxxx | | Linux user #209089 | | http://www.emillo.net | '-----------------------'
