on my system, /dev/snd is a symbolic link to /proc/asound/dev

raph@titanium:~$ ls -la /proc/asound/dev
total 0
dr-xr-xr-x 2 root root 0 mar 12 12:09 .
dr-xr-xr-x 6 root root 0 mar 12 12:09 ..
crw-rw---- 1 root audio 116, 0 mar 12 12:09 controlC0
crw-rw---- 1 root audio 116, 16 mar 12 12:09 pcmC0D0p
crw-rw---- 1 root audio 116, 1 mar 12 12:09 seq
crw-rw---- 1 root audio 116, 33 mar 12 12:09 timer

and jackd tells me

ALSA lib pcm_hw.c:866:(snd_pcm_hw_open) open /dev/snd/pcmC0D0c failed:
No such file or directory

and that is true, I only have pcmC0D0p

What is the matter?

thanks

raph
