[linux-audio-user] soundcard that supports soundfonts ?

Althogh I do have a Soundblaster in my machine, I actually prefer
fluidsynth. Not because of the sound quality - where fluidsynth is
still a bit challenged  -, but because of the added flexibility a
software-solution can provide. Using a Soundblaser card in a
Jack-centric setup is at least a bit awkward, and using it inside my
favourite soft-synth, Pd, is quite impossible. Fluidsynth OTOH was
very easily ported to live inside Pd as an external. 

So it very much depends on the way you work.
