Indeed, there is no linux tool to open sfark in linux but the windows tools 
actually work under Wine, they did a few months ago anyway :)

As for good fonts... the big ones are pretty good, perhaps best is Fluid3 
(should be on hammersound), but that one is BiiiiiiiiG...

It seems the fluid dudes are trying to pull of "something", fluidfonts.com, 
but the original fluid3 seems to be available elsewhere.
