i dont know why fftw3 is taking so long to reach portage :(
there is a bug in bugzilla for it

i accidently already commited the jamin-cvs.ebuild

which currently uses the ebuild i submitted with a package name of
fftw3...

but using the slotted ebuild seems better.
you must change the dependency to >=dev-libs/fftw-3.0 in that case.

nice to see so many gentoo users here.
