they have a pretty good rep.
well, at least the 603 does, the 2001 gets mixed reviews.
i haven't had my hands on either.
i do have an MXL 1006 which isn't bad but isn't great either.
Supposedly the MXL 67 VG is a hell of a buy, i want to try one.

understood.  hey, have you tried the "Unmatched" ladspa plugin?
I haven't.  might be good for this kind of situation.

I have one of the new semi-reissue DC-2 guitars, it's great.
