I picked up their T1953 tube preamp and showed it to a friend of 
mine who is _really_ into audio gear.  I was saying I couldn't figure
out how they could even make it for the price it sells for, never
mind how they make a profit.

He was saying a lot can be done with good engineering, but I said I
still couldn't figure out how they could sell it for $200.  He said
"$200??  I thought this sold for $1000!"

(I still love the 2 little windows showing the backlit tubes and the 
analog meters and Bakelite knobs :)
