build the alsa driver once with --with-debug=detect.
it will show you more verbose kernel messages.

also, check whether your pnp id matches with one of
YMH0020:YMH0021, YMH0030:YMH0021, YMH0800:YMH0021, NMX2200:NMX2210
where the ids are card:device.
