Specimen is a midi controlled audio sampler for GNU/Linux systems. It supports the ALSA midi sequencer interface, and can output audio via ALSA or JACK. This release encompasses some significant changes, making Specimen usable software for enthusiasts. Hook it up to a sequencer, connect it to Ardour, and you have a passable drum machine.
