While Buzz does have tracker functionality, that's only one of a couple
hundred modules available for it. Essentially, Buzz tries to be an all in
one Jack-like environment, where you can use VST or DirectX instruments, or
native Buzz instruments (a few of which are trackers) and route them through
an arbitrary number of Buzz, VST or DX effects prior to output to speaker or
disk. Trouble is, its author lost the source code years ago and updates come
in the form of binary hacks of the executable and more and more module
setups.

Jack is already more flexible and as it builds more critical mass, may
ultimately be more powerful. But the only things Buzz has in common with
Soundtracker are the ability to play samples if you want to, and a
tracker-like interface for entering notes.
