The answer is Ardour.  Check out the Installing from scratch HOWTO and
the Ardour documentation project on
http://www.djcj.org/LAU/guide/index.php.  I'm using Ardour with an
ST-Audio C-Port DSP2000 which is very similar to the 1010 (same chipset,
etc.).
