I use cdrdao for burning audio cd's myself, but in his case there's that pesky 
"wish to burn in steps" thing.  It sounds like what he wants to do is be able 
to add tracks after fixing the disc and still have audio CD players play it, 
and I don't know how you'd do that (I don't know how Easy CD Creator does it, 
either, and would have to see such a disc to believe it.)
