When they are posted is not the problem here, I have to have discussions
settled (rough consensus) and patches reviewed by the maintainer
at some point before the merge window to apply them.

If they are posted in due time for the merge window and the maintainer
(in this case Bjorn) immediately ACKs them then I usually just apply
them.

I just need to establish the chain of trust with the maintainers in time.
