Based on what the driver seems to do right now, it would be located in the transmit and receive paths, and would have to access mac/network/transport offsets and deal with checksums, so anything that deals with checksums, provided that the HW does not require that to transmit/receive packets, could be eliminated entirely for now and be added later.
