The code seems mostly ripped from arch/mips/kernel/perf_event_mipsxx.c.
I reviewed about half of the code then suddenly realized I might be
looking at MIPS code, given some of the English strings there seemed way
too "natural"...
But unfortunately, at least for 3A5000 whose micro-architecture is
largely shared with the MIPS-implementing 3A4000, it seems inevitable to
involve some of the more MIPS-looking logic. The 1st-generation LA
privileged architecture is way too much MIPS-like after all, so if we
want any support for the 3A5000 we'd have to include this.
