Hi, I am trying to set-up a modem for dialin access to a server. I followed some instruction I got about setting up mgetty. So now I can get the system to answer the modem and issue a login prompt. However it doesn't offer the password prompt after the user enters the username. Should the modem be configured for echo back? Should mgetty be configured as data-only ( I don't want fax)? Does anyone know what I am missed? Thanx. Dp. ============================= I used mgetty -x 7 ttyS0 and dialed in.
