Hi, Proftpd is refusing to start on my server. The log shows the message "error opening scoreboard: invalid argument". The scoreboard is a file where the ftp server logs some information for the other commands to read and display users, transfers, etc. The location and ownership of the files are: The server itself - /usr/local/sbin/proftpd owner/group: root root permissions: 755 The scoreboard - /usr/local/var/proftpd/proftpd.scoreboard owner/group: root root permissions: 644 The configuration file - /usr/local/etc/proftpd.conf owner/group: root root permissions: 644 Every time it attempts to start, it re-creates the scoreboard file, with the permissions shown, but then reports the error and bails out. I have tried changing ownership to nobody/nobody (as used on the installation), changing the configuration file, with no results. The proftpd site has no information on this problem nor the documentation mention anything about this. Has anyone had the same difficulty? The version is proftpd 1.2.9 (the latest).
