and anything else which you can find with a similar name.
A valid entry would look like:
*font: 6x13
Check that there is a newline at the end of the line.
I've found of source of my problem with fonts.
Before update of linux I made some font settings using KDE Control Center.
So, after update up RedHat 9 I didn't remove directory ~/.kde, which were included old fonts settings. When I've removed that directory, all font problems were resolved.
