By means of this e-mail I would like to request your attention for the
Kernel bugzilla bug #200277 [0].
TL;DR: Since kernel 4.17, my ASUS K501UB laptop's keyboard and touchpad
are no longer recognised, rendering the machine useless on the go. This
regression is likely due to changes in the ACPI subsystem, and present
since RC1. Sticking with 4.16 is at the moment the only known work-around.
Being relatively unfamiliar with the ACPI subsystem, I am unsure whether
I have assigned this bug to the correct "component" (Other). As such, I
hereby wish to double check that my request has reached the right
people. May I ask you to correct the bug's component assignment (and
urgency) if applicable, and inform me about the best steps I can take
for you to debug this problem further?
Thank you in advance. Best,
Roy
