adding Ying. He wrote the ghes code. But if you using 2.6.39, then the ghes code probably still has some bugs in it that were fixed in 3.0 and 3.1. And unless you are using a Nehalem machine or later (Westmere, Sandy Bridge), ghes won't do much for you. Can you just disable it in the config?
