cpufreq directory missing on ThinkPad W520

After installing Ununtu 11.04 in 64 or 32 bit version on a new Lenovo
ThinkPad W520 (4282W16), I don't see the
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq directory.

More details here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/820489

It might be a BIOS issue (I'm not 100% sure), but I think one cannot
require an ordinary W520 Linux user to upgrade the BIOS. Thus I am
looking for another route.

Any help that connects me to the right person who can deal with my issue is appreciated.
