Based on analysis and a patch from Matthew Garrett <mjg59@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>. Instruct the ThinkPad ACPI firmware to remove delays on the processing of backlight brightness changes. This method is present on ThinkPad Vista-compatible BIOSes with standard ACPI backlight level control.
