(kernel 2.6.27) I believe it is not Linux kernel problem, it's a firmware (BIOS) bug. I have a Sony VGN-Z90S, one of a Japanse variant model of Sony VAIO type Z series, perhaps mostly same as yours and I saw same reboot problem. I've tried kbd/acpi/triple reboot....tracing kernel behaiver... it is completely correct...but this machine hangs after console is shutdown (backlight led is off after cleanly kernel shutdown process) But, after update the BIOS to version R2140M3 (provided at Sep 30 2008 in Japan. Sorry I don't have BIOS update information for other country model..). The reboot problem is completely gone on the same kernel. I recommed to you to update BIOS of your VAIO. -- ISHIKAWA Mutsumi <ishikawa@xxxxxxxxxx>, <ishikawa@xxxxxxxxxxx>, <ishikawa@xxxxxxx> -- To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscribe linux-acpi" in the body of a message to majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx More majordomo info at http://vger.kernel.org/majordomo-info.html
