Can you please compile with CONFIG_DISABLE_CONSOLE_SUSPEND set and try:

# echo test > /sys/power/disk
# echo disk > /sys/power/state

and if that hangs,

# echo testproc > /sys/power/disk
# echo disk > /sys/power/state
