Hi David,
I logged the output (and stderr) to a file but all I got was this:
tar: This does not look like a tar archive
tar: Skipping to next header
drwxr-xr-x dosuser/root 0 2006-05-08 01:19:40 elks/arch/
drwxr-xr-x dosuser/root 0 2006-05-08 01:19:40 elks/arch/i86/
.. snip
-rw-r--r-- dosuser/root 2247 2006-05-04 00:53:58 elksnet/screen/screen.h
-rw-r--r-- dosuser/root 1353 2006-05-04 00:53:58
elksnet/screen/SharFile.Headers
-rw-r--r-- dosuser/root 883 2006-05-04 00:53:58 elksnet/todo
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
I will try my Linux box this evening, perhaps this is a Cygwin glitch....
Regards,
Hans.

Thanks Vikas,
But unfortunately I get the same error,
elksnet/screen/SharFile.Headers
elksnet/todo
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
Scroll up --- the error occurred while tar was unpacking an earlier
file. (If something goes wrong, it'll continue and try and do as many
other files as possible before stopping.)
