Re: Heykel, Cuba, kernel 3.2.0-29-generic-pae

Your USB Agere chipset modem has been recognized.
But sadly, there has not been a single case of success with these
particular modems under Linux.

There is some possibility that the Conexant High Definition Audio card
may house a modem chip on the 1025:030d subsytem, which should be
detectable under a Microsoft bootup. Lazaro can relate how to get the
most recent version of the Linux Conexant available in Cuba. However
should it fail to compile, we can not further help.

Unfortunately commercial support for the modem code under Linux has
ceased to exist. Most of the world is now using broadband for COMM,
whose support code is Open Source and well maintained

Under Linux modems using the Open Source serial drivers are still
functional. Sadly it is most commonly difficult to ascertain whether
one has such a supported modem, without actually testing it under
Linux.
