Bart, The issue of e-mail address public visiblility has been discussed on this list. The simple fact is that there are so many other ways of Acquiring addresses, that discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx is not a signficant Source increment. The greatest Source is address books stolen from PCs under Microsoft. All we active DISCUSS members are volunteers and cannot put effort into the additional software development and maintenance. Additionally it would hinder the delivery of services. Some countries block access to our software repository, Linmodems.org at the TechnionU in Israeli. We need the requistors email address to devise alternate deliver routes. Also there is lots of one-on-one-help, with which the Expext works with the Newbie and doesn't bother the whole List Sincerely: MarvS scanModem maintainer From:ÂBart Verbeek <XXXXXX@xxxxxxxxx> To:Âdiscuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Date:ÂTue, 14 Jun 2011 12:31:03 +0200 Subject:Âe-mail address on archives Hello, I noticed that my e-mailaddress is public visible on http://archives.linmodems.org/ For me this is a very undesirable situation! I kindly and urgently request to remove my name and e-mail address from this listings! ---- BartV erbeek XXXXXX@xxxxxxxxx -------------- Kind regards, Bart Verbeek
